As a minimalist, black and white combo is my all-time favorite. The palette is classic and timeless ( never go out of style), also versatile and seasonless ( you can rock it year-round).

Personally I like to wear this combo two ways:

first is pairing solid black top with white bottoms. For me, white top with black pants is too ordinary and a little bit of  “waiter like”. But by putting white on the bottom, you can easily achieve a fresh and polished result. White bottoms, especially white jeans with clean lines and minimal details are my favorites–they can easily take us from office to party.

Emma stone’s first and second outfits are exactly what I really appreciate and frequently choose in my life. But she really took this black-top-and-white-bottom combo to the next level by adding a splash of red (like her red lips and red cap-toe shoes) and choosing the pieces with trendy details (like her peplum top) or special materials (like her leather top).

Below are details of her first two looks and how we can recreate them for less:

Emma’s third look below shows my second favorite way to rock black and white– through prints and patterns! I have tons of stripes, zebra and cow prints (currently obsessed with the print “Zazzy Zebra” ) and of course polka dots! Polka dot is such a fun and flirty print–it is idea for a girly summer frock, also goes perfectly with masculine pieces.

I'm Helen. In the huge fashion world, what attracts me the most is the way different people accessorize themselves. Our daily outfit choices are not just about the pieces we pick, they relate to something lurking deeply within our hearts: how we feel about ourselves, how we express ourselves to the rest of the world, what kind of people do we want to be and what kind of life do we want to live. Following my passion for fashion, I immerse myself in this bizarre world and try my best to share what I learned with you!
